Baby Girls- Door Sign

Caroline Lau

My own baby girl isn't arriving for a couple of months but with all of our cute Maya Road products that are perfect for little girls, I decided to practice by making my little niece Bethany a little door sign. Can I tell you that after having a boy for 3 years, I seem to freeze up at the sight of some cute girl things?

Luckily, our DT team always inspires me to dig out the butterflies, flowers and pins!

I made this cute sign for Miss Bethany this past week:

Here is a simple list of products you will need:

1. Maya Road Chipboard Butterfly album (only 1 page)
2. Crocheted Trim
3. Jonathan Rubons
4. Wire Flowers
5. Vintage Pearl Pins
6. Velvet Stitch Flowers (in brown and yellow)
7. Jonathan Chipboard Letters

And in a couple of simple steps, you can create a cute sign of your own for your little sleeper!

  • First cover the chipboard butterfly in paper of your choice. Ink edges if desired.
  • Next, rub on the words "baby's sleeping" on a scrap piece of paper. Cut out as shown.
  • Next cut a photo to fit on the page (I used a 2" x 3" wallet and trimmed it down). Set aside.
  • Ink the "shhh" with some white ink. Allow to dry.
  • Add the wire flowers to the back of the velvet ones. Add some fabric or paper leaves as shown. Add pins and ribbon.
  • Next assemble everything as shown in the photos; add a hanging ribbon as desired.

And you are done! Hang this on your sweet baby's room to let people nearby know they are asleep!

Happy Crafting!
