In Singapore, like most traditional festivals here, the celebrations of Eid are enjoyed by every one of all races and religions. I'll be expecting family and friends to be visiting our home, enjoying good food and each other's company. It will be a blast for sure!
The common greeting for Eid in Singapore is 'Selamat Hari Raya', and I created this banner to welcome our family and friends when they visit our home.
Base of this banner is the new Maya Road CHA-S release Mixed Scallop Triangle Banner Album, layered with pages from the Butterfly Coaster album. Scallop triangle pages were first misted with Maya Road's Lime Metallic Mist - I adore this color!
The banner was embellished with Houses Mini Chipboards, Trees Mini Chipboards, Hearts Chipboards, Vintage Pearl Trinket Pins, Pink Pearl Flowers Trinket Pins, Red Gingham Point Blossoms, Red Gingham Ribbon and Birds Mini Sheers.
I also added a few ribbon-woven ketupats to accent the banner, a type of rice dumpling traditionally wrapped in woven-coconut palm leaves - a common fare served during Eid.
Banners are a great festive touch to any occasion, especially in welcoming loved ones to your home. Create one for your next family gathering!
