Embellished Embroidery Hoops

Julia Stainton | Maya Road

Embroidery hoops are a hot trend and so much fun to decorate. They make fabulous decor and are the perfect size project to try out new techniques and stitches. Here's a few ideas featuring fabric and wood embroidery hoops paired up with beautiful Maya Road embellishments.

For this embroidery hoop I tried out different stitches on my sewing machine. The canvas is stitched in white thread and then placed into the hoop. Trim off the excess fabric and hand sew on vintage buttons and beautiful metal charms.

For this hoop, place some loose weave fabric into the hoop. Stretch tight and then sew on some leaves, stems and a sentiment with green embroidery floss and simple stitches. Adhere felt and burlap flowers and hand sew on button accents.

This fun design features Maya Road measuring tape trim. Zig zag stitch measuring tape trims to canvas fabric with sewing machine. Place canvas into embroidery hoop. Embellish with tulle flowers, scissor charms, twine and trinket pins.
