Fun And Simple Techniques

Maya Road | Maya Road

The Butterflies - Mini Chipboard Set is one of my favorite CHA-W products. I love these little beauties. I altered the butterfly shown above by covering a solid butterfly (bottom) with an old book page, sanded the edges and lightly inked it using a light brown ink. I then used a new Maya Road Silver Metallic Inkpad to ink the matching cutout butterfly (top). Using a craft knife I carefully cut a small slit down the back center of the top butterfly's body. This way I could bend the wings upwards to give the butterfly more dimension and the feel of movement on my project. I covered the entire top butterfly with Fine Silver German Glass Glitter and accented the body using self adhesive pearls. Using a strong liquid adhesive I applied adhesive only on the back middle portion of the glittered butterfly then attached the glittered butterfly to the top of the book page butterfly.

To give the Turquoise Felt Pearl Blossom a little more pop for this project I applied Distress Stickles to the leaf. I love glitter but sometimes I want it to be a bit more subtle and really like the effect the Distress Stickles gives next to the felt blossom.

The Dangling and Hanging Chandelier Beads are a big addiction of mine. I love accenting them using Copic Markers. Being able to change the color really adds a uniqueness to your projects. I really like how the Ciao E37 Copic Marker looks on these beads. You can also use the Copic Markers on the Crystal and Jewel Trinket Pins as well as any of Maya Road Acrylic Keychains and Albums.

The Buttons - Mini Chipboard Set is also one of my favorites. They are perfect to run through the Cuttlebug to emboss. Actually any of the Mini Chipboard Sets can be embossed this way. And as I did in the photo above you can ink them with any of the Maya Road Inkpads, cover them with glossy accents, while still wet sprinkle them with iridescent glitter then once dried accent them with a self adhesive pearl. Now you have perfectly matched buttons for any project.

To give a little sparkle to the Cream Medallion Flower I accented the center using Diamond Stickles. This is a super easy way to add a little bling to any of the Trinket Blossoms or Flowers.

So there you have it some fun and simple ways to add subtle techniques to any of your Maya Road embellishments.

Wishing you a creative week.
Hugs,
Lisa Pace
