Hello Roadies! I know it's a corny title, but I just couldn't help myself!! :) With Father's Day coming up, I'm going to share the gift my kids will be giving their dad on his special day.
I find men's homemade gifts the hardest to create. You don't want anything too fussy, but you want to them to see it was made with love. I figured you can't get more "manly" than gears, right! So I pulled out my Gear Coaster Album and some Mini Gears to make this wall hanging. All the chipboard pieces were covered with patterned paper, then the edges were inked, for a finished look.
In the pictures above and below, you can see how I used sections of the picket fence border to ground all the floating parts on this project. The sheer calendar pieces also help to do this. I have always been a little apprehensive about sheers, but I'm finding them a lot of fun to use lately. I guess I was always worried about the glue showing through. But as you can see in the close-ups, that wasn't a problem - and I didn't use any special type of glue!
Here in my final picture, you can see the Jonathan Chipboard letters (another one of my MR favorites). :) I love mixing the mini and regular sized alphabets to create titles - and that's just what I did here.
Have a wonderful week, everyone!!!
