I love Maya Road stamps for several reasons. I love clear acrylic stamps because they are easy to use and it is so easy to see what you are doing when you are stamping. I also like that Maya Road stamps are so versatile, fun, and cool. There are so many possiblities with any given stamp set! I love that! It stretches your dollar even further when your stamps can be used in so many different ways. For this post I am using the Mini Triangle banner(new) stamp set and the Journal note stamp set. Stamping is not just for stamping on paper either! I will show you how you can use your awesome Maya Road stamps on fabric!
First I used the new Triangle Baner stamp. I inked it with Staz-On ink onto heavy duck cloth material. Next, I cut it out and adhered it to a piece of patterned fabric. When that dried I adhered that to some Maya Road sheer ribbon. Now you are ready to embellish the banner. I used Stickles, some Maya Road jewels, chipboard letters/shapes, and some gorgeous Maya Road zig zag trim. I think handstitching the stamped image or using some Copic markers would be a great way to embellish this banner too! You can make your banner say whatever you want and you can personalize it. I love the size of this stamp because it is just right to make a smaller garland. This would also make a great garland for a Christmas tree! Another idea using Maya Road stamps is to tear/cut pieces of a light colored muslin/cotton cloth and stamp onto the strips making your own unique ribbon or ties for your garland or for wrapping gifts!
The next technique involves all the new canvas items that Maya Road has and also the new releases. Canvas albums, tags, and triangle banners! I used the new canvas tags to make reusable gift tags. First, I stamped the word birthday from the MR Journal Note stamp set around the edge of my tag.
Next I added a piece of chalkboard fabric and some Maya Road yellow velvet trim, some embellishments and then added my sentiment using chalk. These tags could be used over and over again just by wiping it off and adding a different personal sentiment!
Speaking of these wonderful canvas albums here is another use for them. Just add a little fabric "pocket", some Maya Road trim to one of the pages and now you have some really cool eyeglass/Ipod holders for your purse!
