Vintage Ruler Flower

Shelley Haganman

With all the flowers blooming, I thought I would share a way to make a really cute vintage flower using Maya Road's English ruler stamp and sheer clocks! Let's get started!

Supplies: Maya Road English ruler (there is also a metric one too), Maya Road sheer clocks, Maya Road Vintage Pearl pins, ink pad, adhesive, and sewing machine (optional), vintage button.

Step 1: Take a large sheer clock and cut it into pie shapes. Make sure you don't cut all the way to the center.

Step 2: Using your heat tool aim the heat on one of the "petals" you have just created. With the heat on count to five, shut off the heat, and bend the outer edge toward the center. Repeat this step with the other "petals".

Step 3: Using the Maya Road ruler stamp, stamp 4-6 images and cut. I used a craft colored paper to make it look more vintage. I also used my sewing machine to add zig-zag stitching to my rulers.

Step 4: Cut each strip in half. Adhere just the ends together. Take these pieces and adhere them to the underside of your large sheer clock "flower" you have created in Step 1 and 2.

Step 5: Add a small sheer clock to the center of your flower and add a vintage button or embellishment of your choice for a finishing touch. I also used the very beautiful Maya Road Vintage pearl pins for an added touch.

Step 6: Add your flower(s) to a page, make it a lapel pin, or make a bouquet, the possibilities are endless. Have fun and enjoy!   Shelley Haganman
