What A Hoot - Metal Owl Fun

Caroline Lau

Howdy Roadies, I wanted to share with you a very simple owly project today. Our design team has a lot of owl love in it and after talking to some of them, I decided to create one this week to hang on a wall in my kid's room. Here is the sweet guy. Do you see some Maya Road goodies on here?

I started off with a few supplies:

1. MR  mega bottlecaps

2. MR motifs bingo markers

3. MR large daisy lace trim (For the hair)

4. flower punch

5. patterned paper

6. MR tiny banners chipboard

7. ten seconds studio metal

8. TSS mold and tools

9. scissors/ tape/ adhesive

All I did was free hand cut the owl out of the peacock metal. He is a basic egg shape and I just added the ears. Then I embossed a piece of gold nugget metal and cut his belly out. I then stuffed his belly with a piece of tissue (not used of course!) to give it a puff look.

Next I covered one of the mini triangle banners with brown cardstock to make his beak. I punched 2 flowers out of patterned paper and layered them behind the wooden bingo motif and then set them into the bottlecap. Next I glued everything together and voila here he is:

And that is it - your owl that you can make in about 30 mins. How cool is that?
