Altered Paintbrush Vintage Style

Julia Stainton | Maya Road

Turn trash into treasure by altering paintbrushes that are past their original use. I love the fact that you can take things that make art and turn them into art pieces themselves!

To create this altered paintbrush, I covered the handle with tissue paper with a multi-medium product. Once it's dry you can stamp on it and paint the metal part of the brush. The bristles on this brush were already embedded with dried white paint so I dipped the ends of the bristles into gold paint to add a touch of glam.

The metal section was then embellished with beautiful Maya Road trims, doilies, charms and flowers.

To finish off the top of the paintbrush I tied on a little chipboard tag also embellished with Maya Road goodies!
