At Maya Road we just LOVE it when people use our products and share what they've made, especially when they are as enthusiastic as Kathleen Taylor. She sent this project a couple of weeks ago and we just HAD to ask her permission to share it with you. Thanks Kathleen for allowing us to show off your work!
Kathleen says she'd been "geared up" about using the Maya Road Gear Coaster Album since the moment she saw it. She just knew it would be perfect in documenting Quinn's first year.
Once she started the album, she couldn't stop. Kathleen was shocked because she usually tends to over think mini albums (don't we all?). But not this one. It was so easy to use and the completed pages just flew off her scrapbook table. It is definitely an album she will treasure forever!
Kathleen shared these tips with us...
Cover:
Paint each gear a separate color and inked the edges with VersaMagic multi-surface Chalk ink (Turquoise Gem). Then cut a piece of patterned paper for the center of gear and randomly layered the gears on top of each other.
Inside pages:
To recreate the paint effect, first paint the chipboard with a bright color, then go over the edges with white acrylic paint and a dry paint dabber tip to add a distressed look.
Also punch 2 random holes in each page to give the page a little more character. Be sure that these holes were never duplicated the same way on the following pages.
Kathleen, we are so glad you shared this album with us! I'm sure that we'll have plenty of people stop by that are glad you shared it as well. You did a MARVELOUS job!
