Walnut Crisp Cookies

Deborah Liu | Mommy School

Walnut crisps are an easy and delicious treat for kids that stay fresh for days.  My husband was looking for something easy to make with the kids during the winter months.  And he created this recipe after much trial and error.  It is now a family favorite!

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 egg whites - kid-safe pasterized egg white is preferred if the kids work the dough
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup toasted oats
  • 1 cup toasted walnuts
  • 2 cups flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Have the kids roll dough onto small balls and then press them down flat onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for ~10 minutes until crisp.
