The girls wanted to make something fun on their day off. I found a couple packs of puff pastry in the freezer, so we tried a few fun things.
This one was probably the most simple and delicious -- simple cinnamon rolls with just 4 ingredients. Add some glaze with three more ingredients, and you have yourself a great dessert.
Ingredients for cinnamon rolls:
Ingredients for glaze:
Preheat oven to 350F. Completely defrost the puff pastry. Lay the pastry flat and roll it out to smooth it and stretch it a bit.
With a pastry brush, spread butter across the pastry in a thin layer. Then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon across the top.
Gradually roll the pastry along the long side of the dough. Make sure the roll is tight.
Place seam side down and notch where you want to cut it.
Using a heavy knife, cut firmly across the dough without pinching it too much.
Cut a piece of parchment paper to line the bottom of a round tin. Place the rolls loosely in the tin so they have space to rise and spread.
Place in oven for about 20 to 25 minutes until they are golden brown. Slide them out of the pan when they are still hot since the melted sugar and butter will solidify quickly and make them stick to the pan.
To make the glaze, add the confectioner's sugar, milk and vanilla together and whisk. Gently spoon onto the rolls.
